Metters
Industries, Inc. receives formal external Software Capability Evaluation
(SCE) of Level 3 in accordance with the Software Engineering Institute
Capability Maturity Model (SEI CMM)

- August 22, 2003 - Metters Industries, Inc. received a formal external
Software Capability Evaluation (SCE) of Maturity Level 3 in accordance
with the Software Engineering Institute Capability Maturity Model
(SEI CMM). The formal evaluation was the result of over two years
of effort by Metters Industries, Inc. and Computer Sciences Corporation
(CSC) to continuously improve software engineering processes at
an organizational level.
The evaluation
was conducted at Metters St. Louis office, where Metters Industries,
Inc. is teamed with CSC to provide software development for the
U.S. Army Logistics Modernization Program. CSC was instrumental
in assisting Metters Industries with policy and procedure guidance,
based on CSC’s mature processes.
Mr. Kenneth
Auck, Director of the Metters St. Louis site, led the software engineering
improvement process and coordinated actions with his CSC counterpart,
Ms. Sue Pape. This evaluation is a formal recognition of Metters
and CSC use of mature software engineering processes and practices.
The use of the SEI CMM has resulted in significant cost savings
for the U.S Army.
The SEI CMM
Maturity Level 3 evaluation is a part of the Metters Industries
quality improvement program, which includes ISO 9001:2000 certification
received in November, 2002 at the Metters Orlando, Florida manufacturing
facility. These two capabilities allow Metters to provide high quality
software engineering and manufacturing support to all federal and
commercial customers, and teaming partners.
