receives US Navy
SeaPort-e Contract Award
McLean, VA – May 31, 2005 - Metters Industries,
Inc. was awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ)
contract by Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Surface Warfare Center,
Dahlgren, VA to provide support services for all phases of weapon
systems acquisition and life-cycle support. The contract has a
four-year base period with one five-year award term and one
additional one-year award term, and has a potential extension of an
additional four years.
Under the contract, Metters Industries will
compete for task order awards providing a range of support services.
This includes research & development support, prototyping,
acquisition logistics, modeling, test & evaluation trials, and
engineering support for the Department of the Navy Systems Commands
(including Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Air Systems Command,
Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, Naval Supply Systems
Command), Military Sealift Command, Naval Facilities Engineering
Command, Strategic Systems Programs, and the US Marine Corps.
The largest of the Navy's five systems
commands, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) engineers, builds and
supports America's Fleet of ships and combat systems. Accounting for
nearly one-fifth of the Navy's budget, NAVSEA manages more than 100
acquisition programs, which are assigned to five affiliated Program
Executive Officers (PEOs) and various Headquarters elements.
